Often brainstorming is quick and very unstructured. Sometime a mind map works well but other times its too restrictive around the central idea. What I want to capture the key points quickly, ensuring I don't miss anything by fumbling and then comback after the session and break out the points that were raised and structure them according to the conversation.
So I'd like to use more keyboard shortcuts to create often usd topics such as a question or an idea or a pro or a con. So I'd like to create a Topic, together with formating and an graphic and associate these with a keyoard shortcut which, when pressed, would drop the topic where the mouse pointer is and set it ready to accept text.
Next I want to create relationships by connecting topics. Not the kind of relationships MM currently uses (curvel dotted line) but the strong 'branch' relationships that are created automatically when building a mind map (as with Visio where you just join topics as desired). My end result might be a mind map, but it could also be a decision tree, or a dialogue map, or a concept map. The situation and freeform discussion will determine this, not the software.
Anybody use MindManager this way? Anybody have experiance creating keyboard shortcuts and styled topics (with graphics)? What about the linking concept?
